​Generally, a good physique is determined by the ratio of body fat to muscle mass. Lower body fat with significant muscle mass indicates a lean, fit body. Maintaining a healthy body weight is attained through strength, endurance, and aerobic exercises. One does not only improve functional movement but also decreases the risk of a health-related issue by obtaining a fitter body. However, as in any personalised fitness program, accurate body assessment is vital prior to the commencement of workout plans itself.


Fitness goals are often associated with achieving an aesthetically pleasing  physique by shedding excess weight and falling within the "ideal" BMI range. The common approach is notoriously well-known to all of us—building muscle and losing  body fat. 


However, many people overlook the fact that BMI figures can be misleading, as it fails to consider individual physiological differences. Two individuals with similar figures of body weight or BMI may have drastically different body composition. For an instance, one may boast more muscular mass while the other exhibit higher body fat percentage. This is why understanding your body composition is essential before embarking on a fitness journey as it accounts for the difference between lean mass and fat mass.
